• Meet every deadline. Don’t leave it to the last minute. The program is entirely coursework based and some assignments are very long, if you fall behind you will be playing catch up the rest of the year.
  • The maximum UCAS points you can get from this course is 360 which is equivalent to DDD (3 Distinctions). Aim to get at least DDM (2 Distinctions, 1 Merit – equivalent to 320 UCAS points) if you want to get in to any decent universities.
  • Make sure to structure your assignments. A well structured assignment will ensure you write about everything you have to, if you are struggling use some of my work as a reference.
  • The units in year one tend to be easier than the units in year two. Get as many distinctions as you can in year one and it will ease the pressure in your final year.
  • Talk to people in your class, often a quick conversation about the task can clear things up and let you crack on with your work.
  • If you really are stuck and you’ve found no help on the web don’t hesitate to ask your tutor, they will give you excellent guidance on what you need to do. They are the ones that will be marking your work so if you know exactly what they want you to do then it’s plain sailing.

    Hello Jed

Your website is very impressive and this is a very helpful site. I notice that you have completed Unit 15 Development planning for a career in business. I have downloaded your assignments (thank you very much) and I was wondering if you had a copy of your actual assignment briefs as these would be very useful. If you have them could you please email them to me?

    Thanks James Downing

This website is going to help me so much! So annoying that you didn’t do Unit 34 though as that’s the one I’m struggling with!

    Hi Jed,
Your website is very useful and encouraging. Thanks a lot.
I really find my course really really hard because i don’t know how to go about it.
I would really love to know how you did it and any advice would be really useful.
    Thanks again,

Hey Rose, All I can say is to really work hard on your first year. Make sure you are ahead and on top of things. The entire course is course work, so if you fall behind you will be playing catch up for the rest of the year! Make sure you have the correct books as they honestly give you the answers on a plate – I’ve listed the ones you will need in the ‘Tips’ section. Good luck!

        Hi Jed,
Im doing the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business course and on my first year and got 7D’s already (predicted DDD-D*D*D* and im stuck on Accouting which im not to confident on and thought I’d give it a go and try and get a D. Long story short so basically I have completed M1/D1 and D2 but have you got the M2 work for this Unit as im not quite fully grasping how to explain the ratio’s and difference between the two years for the Net Profit, Current Ratio, Stock turnover and debtor collection days. I get them it’s just the explination im having trouble with so if you wouldn’t mind could you email it to me or if not ill continue trying to break it down into sections and figuring it out.

    Hi Jed,
I’m actually doing this course in one year – Fast Track. Having a look at your work has given me the confidence to tackle my own assignments, as the lecturers are sometimes too overloaded with work to help me properly. Very impressed by the clarity of your work and grateful that you are sharing this with students like myself.

    Many thanks,
    Benjamin Luong

Brilliant work Jed. Well done on achieving your DDM (equivalent to A and B grades at A Level)!

On another note: “You can do what you like with the work; copy it, change it, eat it – I don’t mind!”

BTEC Level 3 students take note – If you copy (word for word) Jed’s work you are committing PLAGIARISM – passing off someone else’s work as your own.

EDEXCEL (the BTEC exam board) are so hot on this and anyone who does this risks complete failure! How will you cope if you go to University or have to write a report for your managers in the workplace if you have not learnt how to do the process yourself?

You wouldn’t be on the BTEC course if you were unable to meet the criteria and therefore complete all of the Units your teachers have set you. Use Jed’s work as your foundation to creating good assignments that you can feel proud about doing by yourself!

Jed, can I suggest that you do not put up any more information related to your excellent assignments. Why should other people claim glory from all of your hard work?!

OK – Teacher nag over 😉
